Past this point the pavement ends and the legend begins.
Home turf of Alligator Ron — eighth-generation Gladesman.

Ron Bergeron was raised in the small town of Davie, Florida — population 500 — where his parents ran a little grocery store with more places to tie your horse than park a car. His family has lived and breathed the Everglades for eight generations.
In 1965 he bought a 1943 Ford Ferguson tractor and started Bergeron Land Development. From clearing driveways he rose to build some of the biggest highway contracts in Florida history — the I-95, I-595 and Sawgrass Expressway interchanges.
But his heart never left the swamp. Known as "Gator One," he still wrestles alligators, hunts invasive pythons, and fights harder than any man alive to restore America's Everglades. He's raised millions for charity and took home the prestigious Horatio Alger Award in 2018.
— One hand on the rope, one boot in the mud.
"The Everglades is one of the natural wonders of the world — and the day we destroy it, our quality of life will change forever."— ALLIGATOR RON BERGERON
Eight generations made the man. One monster made the legend.

Before the swamp wakes, the Gladesman is already listening. Coffee hot. Rope ready.

They said it was a myth. Twenty feet of ancient muscle. The swamp asked for its king — and got him.
No roads where he's going. Never needed one.

Eight generations taught him the swamp's language. Right now, it's whispering: right below you.
Two kings. One rope. The whole swamp holding its breath.

Steel cables snap. His grip doesn't.

He didn't come to kill the legend. He came to look it in the eye. The Gladesman protects what made him.
The monster swims free. The man rides home. The swamp keeps both their names.
